A vacation in Vipiteno: The most northerly town of Italy
Vipiteno is the most northerly town of Italy and classed asbeing one of the most beautiful towns in the country. The medieval town centre has many interesting alleyways and splendid residences with colourful exteriors. The 46m high clock tower which dates back to 1468 is a distinctive landmark of Vipiteno. Enjoy a day at the indoor and outdoor swimming pools of „Balneum“ and relax in the splendid sauna and wellness area. There are a variety of museums well worth visiting and many other places of interest too. In summer you can buy a variety of local farm products from the weekly market held in the town square. A highpoint not to be missed in the autumn is the traditional Vipiteno Knödel (dumpling) party.

A circular trip through the town centrewill lead you past many places of interest such as the Mithras Stone which stems from the Roman times; the St. Nepomuk monument which was erected after the town was repeatedly flooded in earlier times and the Parish Church with its crucifixion group, christening stone and a specially designed gravestone for Vipiteno. If you wish to drive further afield, the Zillertaler Alps and the glacier world of the Stubaier Alps are not far away.

A variety of leisure activities are to be found in the town and nearby surroundings. The town theatre regularly presents a variety of perfomances, and the village of Wiesen is ideal for families with its a small minigolf area, tennis courts, play park and a Kneipp facility, where the art of treading water can be learned.
